                                    April Greiman the creative designer

April Greiman is a famous American graphic designer who is known for being one of the first graphic designers to use computer software and interface as a medium of design. Greiman is the head of "made in space design consultancy” in California U.S.A, reported from Art Directory gmBH. 2014   Born in New York she attended “Kansas City art institute” where she obtained a undergraduate degree, she later moved to Switzerland where she graduated in the Basel school of design making an impact on the American design community.  Also Smith,J(2009) reports that in 1986 "she accepted a role for the  issue #133 of the influential design quarterly magazine The issue entitled (Does it make sense)features a nude photo of April which sparked controversy in the design world and forced the industry to take note the opportunities involved in the use of computer softwares".

After this artistic work gained publicity we see a slight increase in the use of computers as designing tools. Throughout her lifetime she created other works of art such as "drive by shooting which can be found in Pasadena museum in California". Taken from drive-by shooting(2014) this piece of work is interesting as it’s digitally photographed. Also Smith,J.(2009) reports that "she continues to push the boundaries of design as she played around with typography and was named the founder of postmodern design". "Something from nothing" is another work of art which shows us her unique style. I believe from researching this graphic designer that she is a frontierswoman of modern graphic design as she paved the way for designing on software such as "photoshop" reported by Smith,J.(2014)
